Wildwood

Program Overview
Wildwood is a two-day outdoor learning experience for Sunflower 6th graders. The program is a valuable skill-building and team-building opportunity for our students. The sixth-grade teaching staff uses the Wildwood experience to enhance student learning throughout the year.

This special opportunity is expensive.  For the past two school years the out-of-pocket, per-student price has been well over one-hundred dollars.  The field trip is funded only through community donations and fundraisers held by the students during their 5th grade year.

To defray this cost, we encourage all parents to support the annual fundraising efforts that make this program possible. Whether your student is a 6th grader now or will be later, it's important to support all of Sunflower's students as one community.

The Wildwood program has been incorporated under the Sunflower Elementary PTA organization.  It will be operated as a committee lead by parents in our community.

This year, Sunflower 5th graders will be holding three fundraisers.  The first one is an Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough and More food sale.  The catalogs and order forms for this sale will go home with students on Nov. 7, and the fundraiser ends Nov. 18.  Money is due when the order is placed (checks can be made out to Sunflower PTA).  Delivery of ordered items will be Dec. 14 from 4 to 6pm in the Sunflower cafeteria.
